1. Difference in baking process
* 9-time Bamboo Salt: Baked at 800℃ for 1~8 times, and then melted during the 9th time. Uses resin
when melting, and the temperature reaches over 1,300℃.
* Purple Bamboo Salt: Unlike the above
9-time Bamboo Salt, the baking temperature for the first 1~8 times is higher than
800℃. Therefore, some of the salt pillars start to melt during the 7th
or 8th time of baking and they can show a purple color in the middle
of the salt pillars.
Because it has to be hotter than 9-time
Bamboo Salt, the more native pine trees are used for more care (burning,
melting, bamboo charcoal processing, time, temperature, etc.).
For the last 9th melting process, it is baked at
over 1,500℃ which is higher than the melting process for 9-time Bamboo Salt, and
also more resin and pine trees are used. Due to humidity and other conditions,
it is more likely to fail than 9-time Bamboo Salt. Therefore the yield is not
very good.
2. Different tastes
* 9-time Bamboo Salt and Purple Bamboo Salt taste
differently.
9-time Purple Bamboo
Salt has a more sulfur taste (egg taste) than 9-time Bamboo Salt, and many
people prefer Purple Bamboo Salt for this reason
3. Differences in potential efficacy
(Dr. Choi Eun-a’s opinion)
Purple Bamboo Salt is baked at a higher
temperature than gray bamboo salt at each of the 1 to 9 times, so the more
effective ingredients contained in bamboo are synthesized into the salt. The
effect of bamboo salt does not increase when using more of the mixture of
bamboo, instead it is from the synthesis of the ingredients in bamboo to salt through
high heat. There are not many differences in the ingredients
between room temperature water and boiled water (Baekbitang; boiled pure water)
but the effects are different. So through experience, boiled water has been
used in oriental medicine. Purple Bamboo Salt of Insan Bamboo Salt is made by
taking into consideration the size of brazier and flocculation method taught by
Dr. Insan, and adding the clean air of Jirisan Mountain (even the ingredients contained
the air is different). Even for pine trees, the ingredients of native pine
trees are added in bamboo salt along with the fire flames.
Therefore, Insan Purple Bamboo Salt is a substance that all of Western sea bay salt
as which all Korean earthly matters are condensed, iron pillar, red clay, native
pine tree and pure air from Jirisan Mountain are concentrated. When the natural substances are dealt in oriental medicine,
the trace elements are considered more important than just a quantity, which
are the main ingredients. The effective substance comes from mostly trace
elements, not the main element. The main element acts to assist these trace
elements. The effects of bamboo salt changes not only because of the ingredients
but also because of energy, electromagnetic, physical molecular structure and
so on.
4. Reason that it is
more expensive
Additional
high-temperature processes involved in making Purple Bamboo Salt result in higher
costs for raw materials, management, and depreciation, but also the entirely hand-made
method, the same method that Dr. Insan, Kim Il-hoon used a long time ago,
contributes to the expensive cost. It is not produced by automated mass
producing facilities.
